Michael oversees the production processes at Furris Inc, ensuring that every glass container meets our stringent quality standards. His background in industrial engineering allows him to implement efficient practices that enhance productivity and reduce waste.
The process of glassblowing begins with taking a blob of molten glass with a blowpipe, rotating it to give a first shape, and then blowing into it to create a bubble. Then the glassblower rotates it and shapes it with his tools, ensuring it stays at the right temperature by putting it again rapidly in the furnace. At the end of the process, the object is attached to a pontil so that it can be taken off the blowpipe to shape the aperture.
